The misery of the street cats who need our help
We currently look after about 165 cats in 5 different colonies. My colleagues and I bear most of the costs.
But it is no longer possible. We are all pensioners and can no longer pay for it alone, especially since food prices have doubled during the crisis. State funding not possible.
Every now and then we get an additional €50.00 or €100.00 from animal friends, which is just a drop in the ocean with the rapidly growing population.
Every month we invest around €250.00 in cat food for our darlings. But that's not all, because each castration costs €60.00, each sterilization €75.00, plus pipettes against fleas, ticks and worms €13.00.
The costs overwhelm us now.
That's why I created this page. Without continuous support we can no longer do this. The additional diesel costs for our daily driving eat up part of our budget every month.
A few weeks ago a can of wet food cost 35 cents, today it is 69 cents. 100% price increase. This applies to all animal products that have experienced a price increase of at least 40% to 100%.
Please help to keep the cats from being poisoned as they will breed quickly if nothing is done. My friends are doing their best too. But we are retirees, not millionaires. What we need is a place where we can build a cat house where the cats can live in peace. At the moment there are a lot of young cats running around, new pregnant cat moms keep appearing, which we catch and have sterilized immediately. But not every cat can be caught.
The exploding population MUST be stopped to allow existing cats a species-appropriate life. All must get neutered.

Our nursery of rescued kittens. Often these innocent little creatures are fished out of garbage cans, or out of abandoned boxes, or they are simply abandoned in the village. There is no cruelty that human does not commit!
Our salvaged kitten nursery. Often these innocent little creatures are fished out of dumpsters or abandoned boxes, or they are simply left in the village. From time to time, unfortunately, we find poisoned cats. That is the reason why we want to buy a plantation plot with a house, where the cats are safe and happy. Therefore, we also need your financial support.
It never ceases to amaze me how many human hates cats. Cats are not only beautiful, adorable, cuddly and friendly creatures, no, they are also useful animals. Because ONLY cats can save people from rat infestations.
You cannot fight rats with poison, which many mistakenly believe, because rats are often smarter than many humans. If one or more rats die of rat poison, they inform their conspecifics not to eat this food.
Only cats are natural enemies of rats.
I recently had a discussion with a Swiss lady who told me, I should catch kittens and put them to sleep. I explained to her that I am an animal rights activist and not an animal killer. Also, no veterinarian would put down a healthy cat just because some people find cats annoying.
Owners who claim to love cats often feed street cats in their homes WITHOUT neutering them. One day the house is sold, the new owner wants to make the cats disappear and scares them away. They then end up in our feeding grounds, often already pregnant.
SO WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT PLEASE

Only cats are rats' natural enemies, although I save rats if I can get them off my cats in time.

The problem: In one of my colonies of street cats, which I have fed daily for years, and who have an operation if they have an abscess or another illness, there have become too many. I catch cats that have contracted leukemia, very contagious, and have them euthanized (40€) to save them suffering.
